Be The Brand Hosts “Power Hour” with Business Leaders

Several weeks ago, Clay Ray and I hosted a Be the Brand Collective pop-up with leaders here in Washington, DC. We called it a 90-minute “power hour” to talk about professional brand building strategy, implementation, and of course, LinkedIn.

One thing that stood out was how many people still think about LinkedIn as a digital résumé or a place you update when you are looking for a job. The reality is that LinkedIn has become one of the most important platforms for professional visibility, credibility, and influence.

When someone hears your name before a meeting, a conference, or a potential opportunity, the first thing they often do is look you up on LinkedIn. In many ways, your LinkedIn profile has become your digital handshake.

During the session we spent time talking about how to approach LinkedIn with more intention. That starts with clarity about what you want to be known for and the impression you want someone to take away after they scroll through your profile. From there, it becomes much easier to think about the kinds of stories, insights, and experiences you want to share over time.

Visibility does not mean self-promotion. It means helping others understand the work you do, the perspective you bring, and the impact you care about.

We plan to do more of these pop up workshops throughout the year. Would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining one!
